VERA Dance is a new concept that has been carried out by VERA club in 2013, it is a weekly event where the hippest new faces and old favorites of VERA club to come together.

VERA, the center of underground pop-culture in Groningen, has been known for its long and successful history of hosting concerts over the past decades. As a non-profit origination, VERA is funded by the Dutch government. It is constantly developing young talents in the Groningen area. We promote young musicians, DJs and emerging artists by giving them a venue to perform and a working place to paint!

We aim at providing forward thinking people a place to socialize and dance to alternative music. So on each Saturday nights VERA organizes a different mini fest for music lovers around the globe. Our main programs are:
VERA DJ's:
A team of DJ's from VERA celebrate one theme or musical style. This might be a zeroes-party or a guitar-fest, but always in a VERA way, so expect a bit more than the usual hits.
Vera Serveert:
On these night we serve you our favorite DJ's that aren't affiliated to VERA, only in the way that we like their music. Nights like this can be everything from bands doing a DJ-set with their favorite songs and influences to night with soul or indie DJ's.
Let it beat:
This monthly night focuses more on the dance side of the underground spectrum. Expect a lot of house, electro and techno. The DJs on this night always change, though resident Selektah is always behind the decks.
Global warming:
Global Warming takes you on a trip around the globe across different countries and cultures. Per country you can dance until you have to wipe the sweat off your forehead, and every 10 to 15 minutes we change the country! Mainstream meets underground, from Mali to Italy! Combined with cool and recognizable visuals from the VJ: that’s Global Warming!
For the future, VERA Dance is going to continually organize meaningful dance events and developing the underground dance scene in Groningen. We are betting on good music to bring good people together!

Minimum age: 16
Tickets: For each month, we ask the visitors to pay a 1.5 euros fee to purchase a month card. It allows you to enter VERA Dance nights for the entire month! More importantly, your visit will contribute greatly on developing and preserving indie musicians and artists in the local area, so why not?
